Its longer than the kit and has space in the middle for other components. I had just enough room to fit a ZIF socket for a PIC 16C73, a dip switch, and an external oscillator. This is a work in progress. It will change looks from time to time. At the moment it has a compass using hall-effects sensors, and I will soon be adding some sound detection abilities to it. Rear view showing piezo transducer. Beeps when going in reverse. Also makes a handy debugging aid. The diodes block the PIC from charging the RC used for the timing duration of the tactile sensors. This way the PIC can take control and 'steer' the walker without affecting the function of the tactile sensors when the PIC is not in control. Top down view.
