Jig Pictorial
Jigs1.jpg shows all four jigs, two for the front legs, one for the back legs,
and one for soldering the legs to the leg adapter plate. Also in the picture
are some wood blocks used for bending the wire around the pins.
Jigs2.jpg shows the front legs first step. In this step you place the #10 gauge
wire between the pins and the wooden back-stop, line up the center of the legs
to the middle, then bend each side 90 degrees, gently lifting over the other two
pins, you now have a long skinny 'U' shape. Now bend each side 90 degrees
around those pins. Remove the leg from the jig and move over to the second step.
Jigs3.jpg and Jigs5.jpg show this next step, try to keep your bends clean, use a
block of wood or plastic, avoid bending with your fingers, using the blocks to
bend will give you better results.
Jigs4.jpg and Jigs6.jpg show the jig for the rear legs. Note the numbers and arrows
written in felt pen on the board that show the direction of the bends.
Jigs7.jpg shows the final results from using the jigs to bend the wire.
The rear legs in this picture did not have all the insulation from the wire removed
from the middle, (just a demo). Make sure you do that before bending, as it is more
difficult to do it after you have bent the wire.
